Receiving two stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan and ranked 1st on Trip Advisor’s top tourist destinations in Kobe in 2019, the ‘Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum’ is the only museum of its kind in Japan that allows visitors to dive deep into the craft of Japanese carpentry.
Participants will be guided through a themed exhibit of roughly 1,000 tools and carpentry creations that have been carefully selected from the museum’s collection of more than 35,000 pieces. With a focus on the beautiful and intricate works of the traditional Miya and Sukiya carpenters, participants will come away with knowledge and a newfound appreciation for traditional Japanese architecture such as shrines, temples, and castles. See, touch, and feel the exhibits and even do bit of woodworking with traditional tools on this unique interactive tour.
