Experience the drama and expertise of a live tuna cutting performance followed by fresh sushi and sashimi prepared by a professional sushi chef.

Tuna is one of the most popular foods in Japan with annual tune consumption in Japan being the highest in the world.

Tuna fish is not only for eating in Japan, its preparation and consumption is a performance art embedded in Japanese culture. In a hall adjacent to the "Kobe Central Wholesale Market", participants will view a dynamic tuna cutting performance, followed by a brief lecture about tuna, where participants will be taught the name of each part of a tuna and its flavour characteristics.

Flow of the day and time schedule
Greetings: 5 min.
Tuna dismantling show: 40 minutes (explanation of parts and types of tuna will be given)
Nigiri-zushi experience: 45 minutes (15 minutes for explanation of how to make nigiri-zushi, 30 minutes for nigiri-zushi experience)
Meal and clean-up: 60 min.

*Basically, the market is open from 10:00 to 14:00.
*Wednesdays and Sundays are not available as the market is closed.
