In 1995 the Great Hanshin-Awaji earthquake devastated Kobe, engulfing the city in flames and leaving major areas in rubble. However, Kobe came out of this experience more resilient than ever. In this unique cooking lesson, an instructor who experienced the earthquake firsthand will take participants through what it was like in the aftermath and impart the importance of being prepared for natural disasters. The instructor will demonstrate how to cook using little to no water, how to stay hygienic and most importantly, how to survive in a post-disaster environment. A small disaster preparedness kit is included.
