The Great Hanshi-Awaji Earthquake hit Kobe 25 years ago. During the earthquake the Nagata ward was one of the hardest hit areas. It is here, in 'Futaba Kakusha,' a former elementary school, that this workshop takes place. During thie workshop, locals who experienced the earthquake first hand will tell their stories and teach participants rope work techniques that can be used during an emergency situation. At the end of the program, a game will be played that challenges participants to think about what kind of of action they could take in various situations during a disaster. *A survival whistle and rope are included as a souvenir.
