2018.11.22 Kobe Jumps to No. 2 in Japan for International Meeting Count!
Kobe has climbed to second position behind Tokyo on the Japanese National Tourism Organization’s international meeting rankings in Japan with 405 international meetings in 2017. A big jump from 2016’s count of 260 and 2015’s 113. 405 meetings is the highest number of international meetings held in Kobe up to this point so we are very much chuffed and extremely thankful to everyone who chose to hold a meeting in Kobe, both past and present.
The majority of the meetings held in 2017 were medical and sociology meetings. Amongst those, particularly notable meetings included COnBio2017 which had 10,202 participants, IAG-IASPEI 2017 with 1,000, and i-CREATe 2017 with 600 delegates participating.
Going forward we are looking to hit the ground running and have some fantastic meetings coming to Kobe next year in 2019 such as ICANN64 in March, which is looking to attract around 2,500 delegates to Kobe, ISPRM in June with an estimated 7,000 delegates and ISPO in October with an estimated 5,000 participants predicted to come to Kobe.
Once again, our sincerest thank you goes out to everyone who held their meeting or event in Kobe, all the participants and everyone involved in making the meetings a success! We are sincerely looking forward to working with you again in the future and to the next time we meet!
